In March 2018, over 100 starved, feral Appaloosas were seized from a farm in Wicomico County, Maryland. These horses were placed with rescue organizations throughout the Mid-Atlantic area. Last Chance Animal Rescue took in more than 40 of the horses.
We partnered with the Maryland Fund for Horses (MFFH), to help these beautiful, formerly malnourished, and neglected Appaloosas. They were nursed back to health at El Dorado Farm. We continue provide vet care, gelding, dentistry, farrier work, socialization and training.
Moving forward, we will continue to rescue although not 44 at a time! We will provide service/emotional support dogs and a therapeutic riding program to veterans, first responders and victims of sexual trauma with PTSD.
